A Celebration of Marriage
Welcome to First United Methodist Church! We are thrilled that you have made this decision to include us in you wedding plans. We want to help you make your wedding plans and your wedding day as stress free and special as possible. We invite you to experience the tradition, the joy, and the celebration that is found in Christian marriage. It is our prayer that your wedding plans and your lifelong commitment to each other will be blessed by God as you express your love and commitment to each other. Whether simple or elaborate, your wedding service should have a particular meaning for you and your partner. The wedding service is more than a legal ceremony because it expresses the mystery of love found between Christ and the church He loved and gave His life to save. A Christian wedding assumes that you and your partner have explored those areas thoroughly and have chosen to enter marriage as an expression of your self-understandings and your love for each other, particularly in the context of God's love for you. Please take a look at our Wedding Policy which will help guide you through the choice and decision that you need to consider. If you have additional questions or would like to speak to the pastoral staff, please call the church office at 304.375.6386. |
